Macarons, macarons, macarons!
Ooh la la. Here are some photos of what is going on with Macarons in Paris, Reims, Epernay, and beyond.
Only a few years ago, the Parisian style Macaron was pretty much only in Paris. Now they are all over the place! I found someone selling them at a farmers market in Ile sur la Sorgue, Provence.
There are new ways of displaying them and many resources for the home cook to master Macarons at home.
My quest for the secret to Macaron Wedding Cakes was not as easily obtained. The subject kept changing and there were so many yummy things to eat I lost focus a few times.
I did discover that Dominique's Sweets clients are receiving very high quality macarons. Ours stood up very well against even Pierre Herme and Laduree'!

The Russian River chapter of Slow Food will also be there, pressing fresh cider, talking about the apples and handing out literature. You might be able to snag some groovy bumper stickers!

These photos show the hands on way I teach pie making. I think you have to know the texture of the crust at its different stages to know how to execute a perfectly flaky creation.
